Evaluation of the Electronic Transmission of Medical Findings from Hospital to Practitioners by Triangulation

Short description

The importance of regional networks for the exchange of medical and administrative information between different health care providers is on the rise. In 2002 the Tiroler Landeskrankenanstalten (TIKAL) implemented such a regional network between hospitals and general practitioners in Tyrol to replace the paper-based communication with electronic transmission channels. The study intends to evaluate the effects of the network (health@net) on the participants, but also to obtain feedback on technical and organisational aspects that will be used for the improvement of the system. The survey results revealed a high level of user satisfaction with the electronic transmission system.
