RIS Surveys on eHealth & ePharmacy
eHealth & ePharmacy studies are part of continuous research on ICT indicators within the RIS (Research on Internet in Slovenia) project. The project is run by the University of Ljubljana, Faculty of social science, Centre of methodology and informatics, since 1996. Representative population data are collected by telephone interviews. In addition, an on-line sample is added occasionally for in depth study of characteristics of Internet users. The indicators developed for this project include: Share of monthly Internet users searching health information on the Internet, interest in on-line purchase of health and pharmacy goods/services , frequency of visiting web pages with health or pharmacy content , general characteristics related to health (drugs, doctors, illness etc), trust in various sources of information. The on-line survey module (with sample sizes larger than for the telephone interviews) focuses on some specific characteristics: Opinions about obstacles regarding information search about Health and Pharmacy via Internet, preparedness for paying for e-consultation with doctors or pharmacist or for some other information about health, search for and procurement of alternative medicine via the Internet, search for medical and pharmacy information via Internet, interest in communication with doctors or pharmacist via the Internet.
