Economic Analysis of Electronic Communication in the Norwegian Health Sector

Short description

The report recapitulates the results of a study on the economic benefits of ICT in the health sector. The purpose of the project was to estimate the potential benefits of switching from paper-based to electronic communication channels in the health sector. In particular it dealt with the possible exchange of referrals and epicrises between hospitals, GPs and specialists. The major part of the project consisted of a survey among GPs and hospital wards focusing on the use and benefits of ICT and of potential pitfalls and problems.
