ICT use within Swedish health regions

Short description

The report is part of the ongoing benchmarking conducted by SLIT (Association of Swedish ICT managers in the public health system). It maps the current status of ICT use within the health sector, based on interviews with ICT managers in all 20 Swedish health regions. It addresses the costs of ICT in the health sector but also maps the progress of implementing ICT platforms within a number of areas. The report covers the following topics: Health documentation; Pharmaceutical Administration; Medical services; Collaboration between the different health sectors; Health related eServices for citizens.
The results show that the health regions have increased their use of ICT within many areas of the health sectors since 2001. Today, ICT is used at a large scale within the core activities in the health sector, such as patient documentation, ePrescribing and radiology.
