Survey of the degree of computerization of GP practices
Survey of GPs in Belgium. The survey dealt with questions concerning the availability of ICT infrastructure, the use of EHR and the barriers and facilitators influencing the use of ICT by Generalists in Belgium. The sample has been drawn by simple random sampling. The sample has been 20% of the universe defined as GP younger than 60, practicing in 2007, with at least 1250 ambulatory consultations in 2005 or reimbursements for ambulatory treatments. Return rate has been 49.3%. GPs receive in Belgium an annual incentive of 800 €/year if they use an EHR software homologated by Public authority. The survey was intended to find out why the take-off in term of ICT use in practices still remained below expectations.
